So, today marks exactly one year ago that I left New Orleans to move to Lafayette. And what did I do to celebrate? I went to the DMV. As of today, my official home address is Lafayette, LA.

I suppose it's all worked out pretty well for me. I have a smart sexy boyfriend here. We have an amazing four bedroom house smack in the middle of town in what was recently described in a local magazine article as 'an old obscure' neighborhood. My job's going well. Our dogs are adorable (even if they mostly hate each other). And in less than 36 hours, we leave for 8 days on a small yacht boating the Florida coast from Ft Lauderdale to South Beach to Key West and back again.

I can't even imagine what my life would be had I not met Don and moved to Lafayette, considering that in this past year, my old apartment burned down, my dog died and my New Orleans store was closed for 6 months after the hurricane, not to mention the utter and still lasting devastation of New Orleans...

Yep... no complaints here... (well, except for the fact that the new dog is currently chewing on my foot as I type this...)
